Twilight may or may not be getting it’s own spin-off movie, or worse yet, it’s own TV series. Let’s hope these rumors are just rumors.
Rumors have been flying that the Twilight Saga won’t be ending with the second installment of Breaking Dawn. Allegedly there are talks of starting a spin-off movie or television series about the characters from Forks, WA, though it would have nothing to do with with the main cast, and most certainly nothing to do with the main three. Uhm, no shit. Instead, the new movie/show would follow Jacob’s wolf friends.
First of all, I think you’re taking your movie tagline a bit too seriously. “The epic finale that will live forever”. Please, no. We don’t need it to live forever, we’re all over it. Sure, there are still the crazy twi-hards that cry about movie news, but there are new franchises to obsess over. You all took too long releasing the last movie. There’s no hype anymore, and with all the cast drama, no one is interested in the right things. All anyone really cares about right now is whether or not Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are going to get back together. And obviously you won’t include any of the cast. The entire cast hates each other, or they hate themselves for ever signing on to the project. There’s no way in hell any of them would agree to do another movie or a television show. So of course you go after the wolves that haven’t exactly gotten any sort of crazy publicity from the film. You must be thinking that all your die-hard twi-hards will surely watch the wolves in action, right? Wrong. What are they going to do? Who are they going to fight? How are they going to explain the disappearance of Jacob? Or even the whole Cullen clan? Sure it’s doable, but if we’re being honest, Twilight fans are Twilight fans because of the Jacob-Bella-Edward love triangle. Without that, you have nothing. And come on, you don’t even really have that anymore.
There are pretty much zero details so I’m thinking (and really, really hoping) that this is all just a dumb rumor someone came up with. Listen, I was a huge Twilight fan four/five years ago. It got be into reading again when I was a stupid teenager that thought she didn’t have time to read books of all things. It introduced me to my best friend, and it gave me lots of things to fangirl over. Problem is, that was four or five years ago. It’s time to gracefully bow out guys. Don’t get greedy and don’t get cocky. There’s nothing more annoying than a series that doesn’t know when it’s time to say goodbye.
