Drunk On Pop Lingo

Here’s a quick (and constantly updated) guide to the different lingo used around the blog, in case you’re a bit lost. If there’s something you don’t get, feel free to comment here.

Vocabulary:

Queen ~ A female, usually a celebrity, that I, or someone else, idolizes. For example, Christina Aguilera is my queen.

King ~ A male, usually a celebrity, that I, or someone else, idolizes. For example, Woody Harrelson is my king.

Butthurt ~ Being butthurt means your feelings are hurt, you’re offended or all bent out of shape because of something petty or stupid.

Ship ~ A ship involves a couple that either are already in a romantic relationship, or should be (in your opinion) in a romantic relationship. You can also ship friends as being great friends. When you ship a couple it means that you support or endorse that romantic relationship… usually in an obsessive manner. (Or maybe that’s just me.)

“Peeing” ~ When I say things like “Peeing” or “omg peeing with laughter” I’m not actually peeing. I just mean that it’s really F’n funny. I just want to make sure people don’t think I wet myself on a regular basis.

“Get it” ~ When someone does something good, or impressive. Kind of like a pat on the back. For example, when that newscaster called out her bully on live television I would say, “GET IT, GIRL!” Can also be used in a sexual manner like, “so and so could totally get it”.
