Today, July 27th, marks the one year anniversary of Fifth Harmony and they’re celebrating in big ways.
For those of you that don’t know, Fifth Harmony is a girl group that was brought together on US X Factor exactly one year ago today (July 27th, 2013) by Simon Cowell. The group is made up of Dinah Jane Hansen, Normani Hamilton, Ally Brooke Hernandez, Lauren Jauregui, and Camila Cabello. The girls, who all auditioned as soloists, were brought together first under the name LYLAS aka Love You Like A Sister, but had to change their name to 1432 due to another girl group with the same name. (Fun fact, it was Bruno Mars’ sister’s group). Simon hated the name 1432, though, and had America choose the name of the group. Fifth Harmony finished third on their season of X Factor and their debut album is set to drop sometime in November. Their first single, Miss Movin’ On debuted at number 85 on the Billboard Top 100, and debuted at number 46 on the Billboard Digital Sales chart.
To celebrate the release of their new single, Fifth Harmony launched a promotional contest called Harmonize America through Social Toaster to give fans an opportunity to see them perform and meet them in person. I was able to attend not only the Harmonize America event, but also an acoustic performance through the Orlando radio station 102 Jamz. To celebrate their debut on the charts and their one year together, I thought I’d share some pictures and videos from the events. Enjoy Harmonizers!
I had such a great time hanging out with the girls. You can see more pictures and videos over at the FL Harmonizers twitter account. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a lot of different people, and Fifth Harmony were hands down the sweetest and most genuine ever. They’re so incredibly talented, and I have no doubt that they’re going to go on to do amazing things. Fifth Harmony is going on tour with Cher Lloyd, and you can buy tickets here. Follow the girls on twitter: Camila, Dinah, Lauren, Normani, Ally. And make sure you watch their music video for Miss Movin’ On below!
