You know what, good for him. Why does Adam have to make a covers album if he doesn’t want to? What is ironic, however, is that this news comes just around the time as news that Adam will be joining the cast of Glee….. where he will be doing covers….. probably from the 80s and today. And I think doing covers from today is even more insulting than doing covers from the 80s.
Adam Lambert has parted ways with his label RCA Records and is taking his fans with him.
The former American Idol season eight runner-up was asked by RCA to record an album of covers. Lambert’s legion of fans, often referred to as Glamberts, heard the news and expressed their distaste on social media. On Saturday (July 13) Lambert sent a statement to The Hollywood Reporter and explained his creative differences with the label.
“I’ve had an amazing few years working with the team at RCA; I admire all of them a great deal, and truly appreciate the energy & enthusiasm that went into making both Trespassing & For Your Entertainment successes,” he wrote. “That said, at this point, we are indeed having the oft-cited ‘creative differences’ as to what my next project will be.”
