Christina Aguilera doesn’t read online ‘trash’, and wouldn’t mind playing a crackhead in a movie

Christina Aguilera was at the Billboard/Hollywood Reporter Film, TV & Music Conference this week and she had no problem speaking her mind in various interviews. Are we surprised?

Christina Aguilera was at the Billboard/Hollywood Reporter Film, TV, & Music Conference this week and she, as usual, had no qualms about speaking her mind. Out of all the interviews, there are three things that I would like to address. One, she said that Simon Cowell seems like a dick on his music shows. Two, she wouldn’t mind playing a crackhead or a drug addict in a movie to ‘challenge herself’. Three, she doesn’t pay any attention to what is said about her online because they’re all a bunch of… well, we’ll get into that.

Christina admitted that she’s never seen a full episode of any of Simon’s music shows, but that he comes off as a real “dick” in commercials. She went on to say that she was not about that, and that you don’t have to put people down when they come to audition on the show. She said that she likes The Voice because all of the coaches are really supportive of everyone that auditions, and that even when they have to reject someone they don’t ever belittle them or put them down. Her exact quote is: “I didn’t want to treat people like [Simon does]. I wanted to do The Voice to show that we can be positive. We don’t have to knock people down.” Okay, Christina is my queen, but I have to stop her there. She hasn’t seen a single episode, so she really shouldn’t be judging. I mean, we don’t want people judging you girl! She did have that little episode (or several episodes) with fellow Mouseketeer Tony Lucca last season. While Simon does come off as a dick, that doesn’t mean he actually is one. I happen to love Simon. Though I had to admit, I’ve gotten away from all the other music shows because I’m so completely over the way their system is. I hate that they give all the “bad” acts so much hope and send them right off to the judges just to get their hopes up and be told they suck. I don’t like watching people’s dreams crumble in front of them, so I see Christina’s point.

Later, Christina was talking film and said that she would love to get back into acting if the right role came along. She starred in Burlesque opposite of Cher a few years ago, but the movie was very close to home for her and she wants to go a bit more out of the box. For those of you that don’t know Burlesque is about small-town girl (Christina) who moves to Los Angeles and sings and dances in Cher’s burlesque club. Christina said that she never wanted to do a musical, and would love to do something “meaty and juicy” and something a lot darker and challenging like… wait for it, A CRACKHEAD! She would love to play “a crackhead on the street or a drug addict”. She wants something that will take her out of herself, so I mean, I guess that’s the right direction? Though, I mean, she could also play a kick ass firefighter or something. You don’t have to go that crazy.

This really was a busy weekend for Christina, because once she was done calling Simon a dick and surprising everyone with her movie aspirations, she took some time out to reflect about all of the terrible things people may or may not say about her on the internet. Not that she would know, she doesn’t read any of it. She said that she has no time for static noise. She’s a businesswoman and a mother and she puts her son to bed and goes right to her studio in her backyard and doesn’t have the time or energy to pay attention to it. She said that now everyone is a critic, but then she really told us how she feels. “I don’t read blogs. It’s just God-knows-who in Buttfuck wherever writing hate shit”. Gotta love a girl for using the right form of buttfuck.

She then elaborated, and I took this quote for an article over at the Huffington Post:

“It’s hard being such a powerful woman in the business,” she said. “I’m known for not always being warm and fuzzy, because you’ll just get bulldozed over. You learn to put up this little protective shield, but it’s because of something. In my music, I come off as being very open about being insecure, vulnerable and sensitive sometimes. Then I’ll go onstage and be this powerhouse force to be reckoned with.”

I really admire her, or any celebrity’s, ability to just tune out all of the really harsh things we all say about them. I was scrolling through comments on some of these articles about her and was completely appalled by the things that these people say. Things like, “she’s too fat to play a crackhead” or “why doesn’t she just become a real crack head and get her ugly face off my tv screen”.  I think we all forget that these are real people, and we act like their lives are for our personal amusement, which isn’t true. The best part of this all is that Christina is not even a little bit sorry for anything that she does, and I don’t blame her.

Okay…. so I know I said I was only going to say three things, but after looking through pictures from this week to use in the blog I just wanted to comment that I really, really love her mermaid hair. (Which means the colored tips if you’re confused). Get it girl!! Also, I’m going to be super biased for a second and remind everyone that Christina has been doing this stuff to her hair for years and isn’t copying anyone. Okay, bias over.
