Adele gave birth to her first child, a baby boy, on October 19th, 2012. It is her boyfriend Simon Konecki’s second child.

Adele first announced her pregnancy via a blog post on her website back in June. She talked about being “over the moon excited” and asked for privacy during this time. She must have gotten her wish, because aside from the occasional paparazzi shot, she has been able to stay out of the limelight for quite some time now. The most recent buzz about her actually had to do with her song ‘Skyfall‘ for the the new James Bond movie. Rumors have been going around for a few days now on Twitter that she had finally given birth to her baby boy. I always refuse to believe anything until E! News sends me a breaking news text, but I decided that a post on their website was sufficient. I mean, you can never trust something you hear on Twitter. If you could, Morgan Freeman would be dead. And he’s not allowed to die until he reads me a bedtime story.

Reports on how long Adele and Simon have been dating is fuzzy. Some say that they’ve been dating since the summer of 2011, while others say that Adele hadn’t been seen out with the 38-year-old Simon Konecki until January of this year. As of now Adele’s people refuse to comment on the 24 year old’s supposed birthing of her son, saying they will not yet release a statement. Simon has a five-year-old daughter with his ex-wife Clary Fisher. Rumors have been swirling for months about whether or not the two will (or have already) tied the knots, to which the singer is adamant that they have not, and have no plans to as of now. It has also been reported that his divorce to Clary was still being finalized when the couple first started dating, which could be why they’ve been keeping mum about a lot of things. Or maybe they’re just private people. Adele has also reportedly been known to say that she finds London to be like a “goldfish bowl” and will most likely not want to raise her kids there. I’m sure we’d welcome her over here in America with open arms.

Regardless of what is going on, congratulations to the couple on the birth of their baby boy. I wish them all the best with their relationship and hope it works out well for them. Hopefully the baby is healthy and Adele is healthy and that she’s rested her vocal chords enough to sing that child the best damn lullabies any child has ever heard before. Except possibly Christina Aguilera’s son Max.
